Welcome to the Clifton Archery Club
The Clifton Archery Club is a non-profit organization and is located
just outside of Clifton, Texas, on 66 acres of varied terrain
consisting of cedar breaks, mesquite trees, oak trees with hills and
valleys. The club was organized and is dedicated to promote,
encourage and foster the sport of archery, archer's education and act
as a liaison for the betterment of archers. We also strive to
function as a clearing house for essential archery information and to
assist and foster the conservation of archery. All work and
administration is volunteer and there are
no paid employees. The club operates and maintains a large range
consisting of practice targets and a 1.5 mile 30 target 3D IBO
course. Club monies are spent in the furthering of the sport of
archery
and bowhunting by purchasing targets, range upkeep, supporting 4-H
archery, teaching our youth safety and responsibility ,
etc.
We are excited to report that the Clifton
Archery Club has accomplished its goals set out for the 2005
year. The Clifton Archery Club is totally debt-free, we have
achieved non-profit organization status, we have acquired 20 targets
from the Winter Nationals Shoot that were used only for that
tournament, we have made improvements to the archery range, implemented
a newly designed logo and signs in front of the range, implemented an
Educational Committee, had 3 members that volunteer with the Bosque
County 4-H Archery project become level 1 certified instructors and
continue to help support the local county 4-H archery program. We
are proud to promote and endorse archery education through the
association with the National Bowhunters Education Program (NBEP), the
Texas Bowhunter Education Program (TBEP), the National Archery
Association (NAA), the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) and
the International Bowhunters Education Program (IBEP).
Our goals for 2006 are to continue to educate the community and our
youth on the safety and skill of the sport of archery while providing a
place where families can spend time together. We plan to do this
by offering Bowhunter Safety Courses for TPWD through member
certification in the future, continuing to volunteer with the Bosque
County 4-H archery project, encouraging our local 4-H youth in their
pursuit of improving their archery skills by attending tournaments in
the area and to compete at the State level. We are in the process
of ordering new targets to replace some of the older, worn out ones and
eventually set up an additional shooting course to give more
versatility. We plan on constructing a new clubhouse in the
future to better meet the needs of the officers and shooters
alike. We also hope to host special events tournaments for
shooters in the future.
We are excited to bring you this new website. It will be filled
with information on what we are all about, what our plans are, what we
have accomplished, pictures of tournaments, tournament schedules and
results, 4-H projects, member hunting photos, sponsor links, various
archery associated links and a special section to be able to share
stories about favorite memories, hunts, experiences, etc. Club
memberships are open to anyone interested in the exciting world of
archery whether you are a beginner or a professional tournament archer,
no matter your bow preference. You do not have to be a member to
participate in any of our tournaments.
We strongly believe our youth will make a difference in the future
conservation and sport of archery and bowhunting.
Y'all come shoot!!! |
